The Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota was the big winner of the National Urban Rehabilitation Award 2020, in the “Social Impact” category. Porto received four of the 11 awards awarded.
A total of 76 projects from 18 municipalities in mainland Portugal and the islands competed for the eighth edition of the National Urban Rehabilitation Award. In Porto, the Braamcamp 119 office project won in the trade and services category and the Tipografia do Conto Hotel was doubly awarded, receiving the prize for better rehabilitation in tourism (ex-aequo) and for better rehabilitation of the city of Porto.
The renamed Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota, one of the most emblematic buildings in Porto, was elected as the best rehabilitation intervention with social impact. Requalified and inaugurated in 2019, it was designed by the Círculo de Cristal consortium, formed by Lucios and PEV Entertainment. It is equipped with the most modern technologies and has the capacity to host up to eight thousand people at large cultural, sporting and business events.
